West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday – Getting SIR done in Bengal is a trick of Home Minister Amit Shah. If our government had tried to stop this, the Center would have imposed President’s rule in the state.

Addressing an anti-SIR rally in Murshidabad, Mamata said, the people of Bengal are not so foolish as to fall prey to Shah’s tricks. All of you do not be afraid of SIR, just submit your documents.

He further said- I have not filled my form yet. First all your names will be entered, then I will fill them. May I Help You camps are set up at every booth, take help there.

Mamta said- 40 people died due to SIR

Bengal CM said that 40 people have died due to SIR. An assistance of Rs 2 lakh is being given to those who died and Rs 1 lakh to those undergoing treatment.

Further said that SIR was declared only so that the state government could not function. That too just three months before the elections. Elections are to be held in Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam.

4 big things about Mamta Banerjee…

  1. NRC and detention camps: I will never allow NRC and detention camps to come to Bengal. Even if I slit my throat, I will not let anyone out. Even if someone’s name is struck off, we will get it back through legal means.
  2. Waqf property dispute: No new land waqf is being created, only old data is being uploaded. Data of 82,000 Waqf properties is already on the Centre’s portal. There is a resolution passed in the Assembly that no one’s Waqf land will be taken by force. Some mischievous people are spreading lies, there is nothing to fear.
  3. Accusations on the central government: The Center stops the money, then spreads lies in my name by making fake videos with AI. Rs 700 crore not given for dredging of Farakka Barrage, river erosion is increasing. Approval of erosion prevention project worth Rs 1500 crore has not been received yet.
  4. Warning to minority voters: Like Bihar, in Bengal too, efforts are being made to cut votes by fielding independent candidates. If votes are divided, the loss will be yours, be careful.
