Kidnapped on 14 June 2023
According to the police, a woman in Jaipur city filed a kidnapping case on June 14, 2023. She said that she is a resident of Sanganer Sadar area in Jaipur. On June 14, four people took away her 11-month-old child Kanha alias Prithvi from her house.
The family members knew one of the accused. His name is Tanuj Chahar. Tanuj is a head constable in UP Police. He is posted in Aligarh district. The accused beat up the family members and forcibly took away the child.

The police handed over Kanha to his mother. The child was crying even at that time.
Jaipur police registered a case and formed a team to arrest the accused. Police raided several states including UP, but no clue was found. When Jaipur police contacted Aligarh police, it was found that Tanuj was absent from duty. He has been suspended. After which a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced on Tanuj Chahar.

5 days ago, Jaipur police received information that the accused Tanuj Chahar has grown a beard and has donned the garb of a sadhu. He is living in a hut on the Parikrama Marg of Vrindavan and the Khadar area of Yamuna. A team of Jaipur police dressed up as a sadhu.

Singing bhajans, she reached the accused’s hut. But, Tanuj got a hint of this. He ran away to the fields with the child in his lap. But, on 27 August, the police caught the accused Tanuj Chahar from Surir police station area. The child was rescued safely and brought to Jaipur.
The accused was changing his appearance repeatedly
During police interrogation, accused Tanuj said that he liked the child’s mother. He forced her to live with him. But when she refused, he kidnapped her child.

When the child was going to his parents, the kidnapper also started crying.
He never demanded any ransom. He used to call the child’s mother and threaten her to get his way. Due to this stubbornness, she even left her job. The accused used to call from different numbers to avoid the police. He was also changing his location frequently. He used to roam around changing his appearance.
