Manipur government has launched a large-scale operation to nab the militants. Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday said a statewide operation was being launched to nab the killers of three children and three women who were kidnapped and killed in Jiribam district.

He said that after the unfortunate incidents that took place in Jiribam on November 7 and 11, two companies of CRPF were sent there. Five additional companies were deployed there soon thereafter. Search operation is being conducted on a large scale. No one has been arrested so far, but some accused have been identified. The operation will continue until the culprits are arrested and a case is registered against them.

3. I want to appeal to people to maintain their composure because this is a very serious situation and its solution cannot be found on the basis of emotions. He said that the government will continue to demand removal of AFSPA from those areas where AFSPA has been imposed again.
