The Election Commission has introduced a new e-verification system to prevent disturbances in the process of removing or adding names from the voter list. Under this, now if a person objects to removing or connecting someone’s name from the voter list, then the OTP will be sent to the mobile number.
An official said that many times it happens that a person gives someone else’s name or mobile number online. The new feature will help prevent such disturbances. This feature has been implemented a week ago. However, the Election Commission has made it clear that this has not been done in response to the wrong efforts to remove the name from the voter list in Aland Assembly seat in Karnataka.

99.99 percentile student suicide in NEET
Anurag Anil Borkar (19) of Chandrapur, Maharashtra committed suicide on Monday. Anurag, who brought 99.99 percentile to NEET, was to enroll in an MBBS course at the Medical College in Gorakhpur, UP on Tuesday.
His All India rank in the OBC category was 1475. The suicide note reads, ‘Don’t make me MBBS. The more a doctor earns, the more a businessman can earn. I don’t have to do five years of studies and then MD.
78 days bonus to 10.91 lakh railway personnel, Union Cabinet approved
10.91 lakh personnel of the railway will get a bonus equal to a 78 -day salary. The Union Cabinet approved this on Wednesday amid festivals. This bonus will be given to non-gazette personnel. This includes track maintainer, loco pilot, guard, station master, supervisor, technician and other Group C employees.
The eligible employee will get a bonus of up to Rs 17,951. The cabinet also approved the plan to upgrade the Government Medical College. Under this, 5 thousand PG seats will be increased in medical colleges across the country. 5,023 MBBS seats will be increased in existing government medical colleges.
