On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the state government has made knowledge of Marathi language mandatory for all auto, taxi and Ola-Uber drivers in the state. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said the move was aimed at eliminating language conflicts between passengers and drivers and promoting local culture.

The government has clarified that no one’s license will be canceled for not knowing Marathi. Instead, drivers will be given training. This training will be conducted in collaboration with Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad.

The certificate received after completing the training will be necessary for license renewal in future. A 100-day special campaign will be run in all 59 RTO offices of the state till August 15.

NTA’s advisory regarding NEET UG, even if biometric fails, candidates will be allowed to enter.

NEET UG 2026 exam will be held on May 3. National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a new advisory for about 25 lakh applicants. According to this, if for some reason the biometric verification fails, the candidates will still be able to take the exam. For this, they will have to give a written undertaking in the prescribed format at the examination centre. The major reasons for biometric failure include dry or damaged fingers, machine malfunction, connectivity issues with the UIDAI server or errors in Aadhaar data. Students have been advised to keep hands clean and moisturized before the examination, avoid injuries and reach the examination center on time.

Claim of radioactive danger at RSS headquarters, alert in Nagpur

It has been claimed that radioactive material has been hidden at many other important places including the Sangh headquarters and the BJP office. An alert has been issued in Nagpur after receiving an anonymous letter. This letter was received by the Police Commissioner’s office on 27 April. Police, with the help of NDRF and energy experts, conducted a search operation at the places mentioned in the letter, but till now they have not found any trace of radioactive material. Police suspect that this letter may be a joke. Still the police in Nagpur is on alert mode.

Kavita’s party ‘Telangana Rakshana Sena’ got approval

The Election Commission has appointed former Telangana CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. The name ‘Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS)’ has been approved for Kavitha’s new party. Kavitha had announced a new party named ‘Telangana Rashtra Sena’ on April 25. After this, a proposal of five names for the new party was sent to the Commission. The commission gave the green signal to their third option. Earlier, his father Chandrashekhar Rao had formed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party. In 2022, its name was changed to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS).
