After the voting in the first phase of West Bengal Assembly elections, the Election Commission has said that there was no need for re-poll at any booth. According to the Commission, voting was completed peacefully at all 44,376 polling stations.

The official said that repoll has not been recommended at any of the 44,376 polling stations during the first phase of voting held on April 23 in West Bengal.

This statement indicates that the first phase of elections was overall conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner. It is noteworthy that in the first phase, voting was held in many assembly seats of the state and tight security arrangements were made.

Doctor hits e-rickshaw with speeding car in Delhi, 1 dead, 5 injured

One person was killed and five were injured when a speeding car hit an e-rickshaw in Delhi’s Model Town area. According to the police, the accident happened late Friday evening near a hospital on the Ring Road.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a speeding car hit the e-rickshaw, due to which the driver and several people in it were seriously injured. The collision was so strong that the e-rickshaw overturned.

The car driver immediately took the injured to Vinayak Hospital. According to the police, the person driving the car has been identified as Dr Siddharth, a resident of Rohini and senior resident (radiologist) at GB Pant Hospital.

Complaint filed against woman who shouted at minister Girish Mahajan in Mumbai

A complaint has been filed against the woman who scolded Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan over the traffic jam caused by the BJP rally. This complaint has been lodged at Worli Police Station by Jane Sadavarte, daughter of advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte.

In her complaint, Jane Sadavarte alleged that the woman created a ruckus, used abusive language, disrupted the rally and disturbed public peace.

During the rally held on Tuesday, an angry woman surrounded Minister Mahajan when he was talking to journalists. Expressing her anger over blocking the roads, the woman scolded the minister and said – Get out of here, you are blocking the traffic.

He also raised questions as to why the rally was not held in a nearby open field. Earlier, Minister Girish Mahajan had said that the woman’s anger was justified to some extent, but her language was inappropriate. He had also clarified that there was no need for any legal action against him.

DSP acquitted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara custodial torture case, trial will run on 7 others

The court has given big relief to the DSP in the custodial torture case in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. The court acquitted DSP Aijaz Ahmed Naik of charges, while ordered trial against the other 7 accused.

According to news agency PTI, this order was given by the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Manjeet Singh Manhas on Friday.

This case is related to the alleged custodial torture of policeman Khurshid Ahmed Chohan in February 2023, which was being investigated by the CBI. According to the CBI charge sheet, the victim’s genitals and testicles were cut during interrogation. In this case, the Supreme Court had asked for a status report from the CBI last year.

The court said in its order that no prima facie case is made out against the DSP. The judgment said there was no indication in the prosecution’s evidence that the DSP took any direct part in the alleged incidents.

LPG cylinder blast in Beed, Maharashtra, two houses burnt to ashes, the accident happened during the preparation for the funeral feast.

A major accident occurred due to LPG cylinder explosion in Beed district of Maharashtra. Two houses were gutted in the fire that followed the explosion. However, there was no loss of life in this incident.

According to the police, the incident took place when food was being prepared at Balasaheb Jadhav’s house for the function marking the tenth day of his wife’s death.

Meanwhile, a sudden fire broke out in the stove, which engulfed the gas cylinder. After this there was a massive explosion. The fire that broke out after the explosion spread rapidly and Jadhav’s house made of mud and wood was completely burnt. Another nearby house also got caught in the fire.
