PM Modi will interact with the participants of ‘Seva Yatra’ on Thursday morning. This motorcycle rally is going from Vadnagar in Gujarat to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The bikers participating in the Yatra are passing through cities, districts and villages, meeting local people and taking part in service activities as per need.
10 bike groups participating in the yatra will be present during the conversation with the Prime Minister. The journey is bringing together aspects of service, connectivity, youth participation, social welfare, cultural engagement and community engagement.
Two bike rallies were flagged off on September 17, Prime Minister Modi’s 76th birthday. One rally has started from his birthplace Vadnagar to Varanasi and the other from Varanasi to Vadnagar. Both the journeys will be completed on 7th October. These rallies are being taken out to mark 25 years of Modi’s public life.
After SIR, Arunachal Congress demands investigation, demands to make public the basis of removal of every name
Arunachal Pradesh Congress has raised questions on the transparency of the final voter list released after SIR and has demanded assembly constituency-wise investigation. The party said the number of voters in the state has decreased by more than 21% compared to the previous list. Congress has asked to ensure legal and verifiable basis for removal of every name.
The final voter list of Arunachal Pradesh was released on Tuesday. There are 6.96 lakh voters in it. This is 1.91 lakh less than the number before SIR. The final list includes 3,43,709 men, 3,52,315 women and two third-gender voters.
Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) said that in view of such a huge shortfall, the election authorities should make public the assembly constituency-wise and category-wise data. The party has also sought to make public the broad reasons for removal of names, along with the number of names added and removed, keeping in mind the protection of privacy.
Congress said there should be a legal and verifiable basis for removing every name. It should also be ensured that no eligible voter is left out of the list due to administrative mistakes or difficulties in reaching remote areas.
