The Sri Lankan Navy on Wednesday night caught 10 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were fishing in Sri Lankan waters and also confiscated their boat. The navy on Thursday said the boat was seized off the coast of Kovilan lighthouse in Karainagar, Jaffna, the first such seizure in 2025.

Bombay High Court said – Dispute between parents cannot take away the right to make a passport from children.

The right of minor children to obtain a passport and travel abroad cannot be taken away due to a dispute between parents. Bombay High Court made this comment on the petition of a 17-year-old girl and her mother.

The Court emphasized that the right to travel is an aspect of the fundamental right given in the Constitution. The court directed the Pune Regional Passport Office to issue the passport to the girl within two weeks.
