- Passenger Arrested At Delhi Airport For Hiding 200 Grams Of Gold In The Waistband Of His Jeans

The Customs Department has seized about 200 grams of gold from a passenger at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The passenger had hidden the gold in the empty space of the waistband of his jeans.
According to the Customs Department, the passenger was stopped after reaching Delhi from Riyadh on Monday. Nothing suspicious was found in the X-ray examination of the luggage. After this, when there was suspicion on the passenger’s activities, he was searched.
During the search, two strips of yellow colored chemical paste kept hidden in jeans were recovered. The department says that this paste was made of gold, whose total weight is 196.5 grams.

Jharkhand number car accident in Saipho, Sikkim; One dead, 4 injured

A car carrying tourists met with an accident in Saipho area of Sikkim on Tuesday. One woman died in the accident, while four others were seriously injured. Police said that the car was of Jharkhand number. All the people in the car were tourists and were going towards North Sikkim.
As soon as information about the accident was received, emergency services reached the spot and the injured were admitted to nearby health centres. According to officials, as the condition of the injured is critical, they have been referred to New STNM Hospital in Gangtok.
Concern has been raised about the increasing number of tourist vehicles in Sikkim during the winter season. It is reported that many of these vehicles are being driven by people who do not have experience of driving on hilly roads. Sikkim is a popular tourist destination, but being located in the Eastern Himalayan region, the roads here are considered dangerous due to sharp turns.
