An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude occurred in Cachar district of Assam on Thursday night. Its tremors were felt in many parts of Northeast India including Meghalaya. The depth of the earthquake was 39 kilometers below the ground. Its center was recorded at 24.941 degrees north latitude and 93.007 degrees east longitude.
