An Indian, who lost his wife and two-year-old innocent daughter in the Ahmedabad Air India plane crash in the year 2025, is in danger of being deported from Britain. The name of the victim is said to be Mohammad Sethwala. Britain’s Home Ministry has given him time till Wednesday (April 22) to leave the country. Threats of arrest have been made if the order is not followed.

At present he has been kept on ‘immigration bail’. Sethwala said with a heavy heart, “I do not accept the government’s decision. Because of this I am not well. I cannot accept it.”
According to the information, in the year 2022, Mohd. Sethwala March came to Britain with his wife. Sadiqabanu was studying at the Ulster University campus in London. She was planning to settle there as a ‘skilled worker’ in future. Talking to ‘The Indian Express’, Sethwala said that both of them come from a very weak economic background. Neighbors collected money and sent him to Britain.
Air India had also offered Sethwala a job with the Taj Group in London, but he could not accept it due to the expiry of his visa. His friends say that if his wife or daughter were alive today, they would have the legal right to live in Britain. But even in this sad situation, the British administration is not considering them in the category of ‘bereaved husband/wife’.
According to documents seen by ‘The Sun’, the Home Office has argued in its letter that since Mohammed Sethwala’s family lives in India. They know how to speak their mother tongue, so they will not have any problem in settling there again. On this basis, he has been given an ultimatum to leave the country by 22 April. This step of the British government is being condemned all around.
Fiza Qureshi, CEO of Migrants Rights Network, has called it ‘insensitive’. At the same time, historian Patrick Vernon has called it a ‘moral failure’.
