The launch program of the song Ghar Kab Aaoge from the film Border 2 was held in the historic Longewala-Tanot area near the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The event took place in the presence of BSF jawans, which was attended by many members of the team including actors Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, singer Sonu Nigam and the film’s co-producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. Live performance also took place in the amphitheater in front of Longewala-Tanot Mata Temple.
When Ahan Shetty reached the stage during the program, he touched Sunny Deol’s feet and took blessings.
Ahan Shetty’s father Sunil Shetty had worked in the first part of the film Border.
Singer Sonu Nigam sang the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ on stage with the soldiers during the event.
Sonu Nigam, as a singer, is a part of both the parts of the film Border.
At the event, Varun Dhawan gave a message of patriotism by referring to the 1971 war. He said that India believes in peace and harmony, but it is necessary to make films like Border. This gives the message to the youth that the country is strong and if anyone looks up, we are capable of responding. He also said that when we can give freedom to another country, we will never step back in fighting for our country.
During the program, Varun also recited a dialogue from the film, “This time we will not only enter the border, we will change the border itself.” The audience clapped loudly as soon as the dialogue was heard.
Varun Dhawan is playing the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the film Border 2.
During the event, Sunny Deol told that he had seen his father’s film Haqeeqat in his childhood, which he liked very much. He was very young at that time. When Sunny Deol became an actor, he thought that he would also do a film based on patriotism like his father. With this thinking he J. Talked to P. Dutta and then the film Border was made.

The song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from the 1997 film ‘Border’ is counted among the most popular patriotic songs of Hindi cinema. Let us tell you that apart from Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod, the new version of the song includes the voices of Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Diljit Dosanjh. The music has been recreated by Mithun, while the lyrics have been composed by Manoj Muntashir with original words by Javed Akhtar.
The new version is a total of 10 minutes 34 seconds long. It is slightly shorter than the original song, which had a duration of 13 minutes and 49 seconds. However, according to today’s times, this song is still considered a very long song. Its video is of about 3 minutes 10 seconds.

Regarding the new version of the song Ghar Kab Aaoge, the film’s co-producer Nidhi Dutta wrote on her Instagram story that the song was originally composed 29 years ago by her father JP Dutta, lyricist Javed Akhtar, music director Anu Malik and singers Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathore.
Regarding the song, Nidhi Dutta had written, “Ghar Kab Aaoge/Sandesh Aate Hai has been released today. This song was composed 29 years ago with the talent of my father JP Dutta, Javed Sahab, Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod.”
He said that the soul of the original song has not been changed in the new version. According to him, it has been re-imagined to add more stories related to the emotions of the soldiers and their families. The film ‘Border 2’ is directed by Anurag Singh.
Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Anya Singh will be seen in it. This film will be released in theaters on 23 January 2026.
