A case of burning of a Hindu person has again come to light in Bangladesh. On December 31, 50-year-old Khokon Das was attacked by a mob in Shariatpur district.

Khokon Das was returning home when a crowd of people surrounded him. First they were attacked with sharp weapons, then brutally beaten and set on fire. He suffered serious burns in this attack.

Khokon Das has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition, where his condition is said to be critical. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after the incident. Police are investigating the matter and the accused are being searched.
