More than 200 cases of violence against Hindus have been reported in Bangladesh in the last one month.

An incident of breaking the idol being made for Durga Puja has come to light in Bangladesh. Some miscreants carried out this incident in a temple on the night of 31 August in Sherpur district of Bangladesh, adjacent to the Meghalaya border. The miscreants broke the lock of Barwari temple of Sherpur late on Saturday night and entered inside.

Sagar Ravidas, the general secretary of the temple committee, said that some miscreants broke the lock and chain of the temple and entered inside. After this, they broke the statue of the mother goddess being made of clay. After this, they also tried to burn the statue by sprinkling petrol on it. As soon as the information about the incident was received, local police and army personnel reached the spot.

However, for some reason, the statue did not catch fire. After this, the rioters fled from the spot.

Police said- we will take action against the accused
Station in-charge of the local police station, Qayyum Khan Siddiqui, said that action will be taken against the miscreants after investigating the matter. However, no accused has been arrested in the incident so far. Fear has spread among Hindus since the formation of the new government in Bangladesh.

However, the government has assured the safety of Hindus. Recently, a murder case was registered against Rana Dasgupta, general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council. Thousands of people protested against this.

Resignations are being taken from minority teachers
According to the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, since the formation of the new government in the country, teachers belonging to the minority community are being forced to resign. So far, 49 teachers from the minority community have resigned. Out of these, only 19 have been reinstated.

Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council and Bangladesh Puja Udayapana Parishad wrote an open letter to the chief advisor of the interim government on August 9.

In this letter, the government was asked to provide security to the minorities. Since the fall of the Hasina government, 205 incidents of attacks on Hindus were reported in 52 districts. The council also mentioned these incidents in the open letter.
