Dr. Mohammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, is considering resigning. They feel that it is becoming difficult to work due to lack of consensus among political parties. The BBC Bangla Service gave this information late on Thursday night quoting the student -led National Citizen Party (NCP) chief Anhid Islam.
Islam told BBC Bangla, ‘We are hearing the news of Sir (Younus) resignation since this morning. So I went to meet him to discuss this issue. He said that he is thinking about it. Yunus has expressed apprehension that he will probably not be able to work in the current situation of the country.
According to the NCP Chief, ‘Younus has said that they will not be able to work until political parties agreed. I have asked them to remain strong to fulfill the expectations of the country’s security, future and mass movement.
Islam also said that if Yunus cannot do his work, then there is no point in his stay. If the political party wants them to resign now, if they do not get that trust, that assurance, then why they will stay.
