Usman Hadi was shot in Dhaka on 12 December. He died during treatment on 18 December.
STF of West Bengal Police has arrested two accused in the murder case of anti-India and anti-Bangladeshi leader Sheikh Hasina Usman Hadi. The accused have been identified as Rahul alias Faisal Karim Masood (37) and Alamgir Hussain (34).
Both had entered India illegally from the Meghalaya border and were hiding in Bongaon, West Bengal. The accused were waiting for the right opportunity so that they could return to Bangladesh again. But before this, STF conducted a raid on the intervening night of 7th and 8th March and caught both of them.
Rahul alias Faisal Karim Masood is a resident of Patuakhali, Bangladesh, while Alamgir Hussain is a resident of Dhaka. Police registered the case and presented both the accused in the court on Sunday, from where they have been sent to police custody.
Officials said that a detailed investigation of the entire case is going on and efforts are being made to find out whether any local network played a role in the entry of the accused into India.
