The French Navy has declared Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir’s report of Rafale falling in Operation Vermillion as fake. The Navy has said that the matter of Rafale falling was never accepted nor did any officer give such a statement.
Hamid Mir had claimed that Rafale had fallen citing the statement of a French officer. The French Navy said that the name of the officer mentioned in the report is also wrong.
The report said Jacques Launay, while the correct name is Captain Yvan Launay. The Navy said that Captain Launay’s position and responsibilities were also exaggerated.
According to France, Captain Launay neither said anything about the downing of Rafale nor made any claim regarding the India-Pakistan clash. When asked questions on Operation Sindoor, he only said that he could not comment on it. Despite this, it was presented in the report as confirmation.

French Navy posted on X and termed Pakistani journalist’s report as fake news.
Claim in Hamid’s report – Rafale was not used properly
Hamid Mir, in his report, falsely cited Captain Lonai’s statement and talked about the downing of India’s Rafale fighter jet. According to Hamid, Captain Lonai said that the fall of Rafale was not because of the technical capability of China’s J-10C, but because of the way the operation was handled.
According to the report, Captain Lonai said that there was no problem with Rafale, but it was not used properly. Rafale can defeat J-10C in any situation.
Pakistani journalist quoting Captain Lonai claimed in the report that
140+ fighter jets of both the countries were facing each other. With such a large number of targets, it was easy to shoot down any aircraft. Pakistan managed to handle this complex situation in a better way

Captain Lonay is the commander of Landevijeu Naval Air Base of the French Navy. This is the same base where France’s nuclear-capable Rafale is deployed.
BJP said- expose Pakistan’s lies
BJP leader Amit Malviya said that Pakistan’s misinformation network has once again been exposed. He said that Hamid Mir’s report repeated the same old, fabricated claims regarding Rafale jets, which have now been declared false by the French Navy.
Malviya also alleged that Hamid Mir has close links with some Indian media organizations, thereby promoting Pakistan’s propaganda machinery.

American report- Pakistan defeated India in Operation Sindoor
An American report has claimed that in the 4-day war (Operation Vermillion) between India and Pakistan in May 2025, Pakistan had achieved major military success.
In this report, Pahalgam attack has also been considered as ‘insurgent attack’ rather than as a terrorist attack. This 800-page report has been released by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC).
On the report, Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday that this report presented in the US Parliament has sealed Pakistan’s victory in the military confrontation with India.
According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Shahbaz said,
The excellent performance of Pakistani Army brought the enemy to its knees. Field Marshal Asim Munir has a big contribution in this.

Claim- Damage to Rafale’s image.
The US report said that Pakistan has claimed that it shot down at least 6 Indian fighter planes, including Rafale jets. This damaged Rafael’s image. The report says that only three Indian aircraft are actually confirmed to have been shot down.
USCC says that China used the India-Pakistan war to test its modern weapons in live war and show it to the world.
After the battle, Chinese embassies around the world praised their weapons and said that Pakistan used them to shoot down Indian fighter planes.
Five months after the India-Pakistan conflict, China had made a deal to sell 42 J-10C fighter jets to Indonesia for Rs 75 thousand crore.
