The father of Spain’s young footballer Lamin Yamal has been admitted to the hospital. His father was stabbed by miscreants outside a parking lot in Barcelona. He was seriously injured due to multiple blows. He is being treated.

17-year-old Yamal played an important role in making Spain the Euro Cup champion in July. He also gave the team the lead by scoring a goal in the semi-final against France.

The attack happened on Wednesday
According to ESPN, Yamal’s father Mounir Nasraoui was attacked in his hometown of Mataró, which is 30km from Barcelona. Local police said he was stabbed by miscreants around 9:10pm on Wednesday night. However, the attack was not reported to be fatal.

Yamal’s father said in a social media post on Thursday that he is feeling better. He also thanked the people who supported him.

3 people were arrested
On Wednesday itself, the police arrested 3 people. After questioning them, the fourth accused was also arrested. The police said that more arrests can be made. However, the accused were not disclosed.

Yamal is practising with Barcelona
Lamine Yamal plays club football for Barcelona. He was practising with his team when his father was attacked. He is scheduled to play against Valencia in La Liga on Saturday.

Yamal made Spain Euro Cup champion
Spain won the Euro Cup played in June and July this year. Young Yamal played a big role in making the team champion. Yamal played all the matches in the tournament held in Germany, he scored an important goal against France and took the team to the final.
