In his recent interview with Mid-Day, Priyadarshan talked about Akshay Khanna’s work ethics. Recalling the old days, the director said that when he was going to do ‘Doli Saja Ke Rakhna’ with Akshay, many people had refused to take Akshay as the lead.

People argued that he was very difficult to work with. Also he is moody. But when Priyadarshan worked with Akshay, his opinion about the actor changed.

Jyotika was the main lead opposite Akshaye Khanna in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna. This film was a remake of the Malayalam film Aniyathipravu.

Priyadarshan fell in love with Akshay from his very first film. Priyadarshan said, “I never found it difficult.” He further told how he used to call Akshay at 5 in the morning and he would reach on time.

Calling her ‘darling’, Priyadarshan said that they did six films together and there was never any bitterness. According to Priyadarshan, Akshay does not care about criticism at all.

Talking about the films of Akshay Khanna and filmmaker Priyadarshan, both of them worked for the first time in the year 1998 in the film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna. After that he did films like Hungama, Hustle, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, Aakrosh.

About 15 days ago, director and writer Manish Gupta had made serious allegations against Akshay and said that the actor had thrown him out of the film ‘Section 375’. Also, signed another film in violation of the contract. Suddenly, instead of the amount of Rs 2 crore fixed in the contract, they started demanding Rs 32.5 crore.

At the same time, ‘Drishyam-3’ director Abhishek Pathak, while reacting to Akshay Khanna’s exit, challenged him to make a solo film. Whereas the film’s producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has sent a legal notice to the actor.
