The family of Kargil martyr Balvinder Singh has not forgotten the martyrdom of their son even after 25 years. The martyr’s family has built a separate room in their house in memory of their son. In which the family has kept his memories alive. The things he wore at the time of his martyrdom have been brought back.

In the initial phase of Kargil war of 1999, Balwinder Singh of Sabuana village of Fazilka was martyred while fighting the enemies. Balwinder Singh took bullets on his chest while protecting the country. He sacrificed his life for the country. His family left the village and started living in Awa Colony of Fazilka.
Where the family built a separate room for martyr Balwinder Singh and started worshipping him. Along with the pictures of the Gurus, the belongings of martyr Balwinder Singh have been kept. These include his uniform, the tricolor in which the martyr’s body was brought to his home. Along with this, the trophies of the honours received by the martyr and everything else have been kept in his room.

Akhand Paath is conducted every year
Martyr’s mother Bachan Kaur and sister-in-law Jaswinder Kaur say that they are proud of their son. They said that even after 25 years, their son is still alive for them. Due to which they have preserved the memories of martyr Balwinder Singh in their home.
She said that before doing any work in the house, people go to the room of martyr Balwinder Singh and pay obeisance and every year Akhand Paath is done. Mother Bachan Kaur tells that her son fought directly with the enemies. Her son was martyred for the country after facing the enemies for 5 hours and taking bullets in his chest.
