Bollywood actress Preity Zinta turns 51 today. Preeti, who started her career with the film Dil, worked in many films like Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Koi… Mil Gaya, Veer-Zaara and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
Today, on the special occasion of Preity Zinta’s birthday, let us touch her life closely-
Preeti was born in a Himachali Rajput family. His father Durganand Zinta was an officer in the Indian Army. Her father’s disciplined lifestyle since childhood left a deep impression on the personality of the actress, but when Preeti was 13 years old, her father died in a car accident.
His mother Neelprabha was also in that car. Luckily his life was saved, but almost every bone in his body, even his spine, was broken. She remained bedridden for about a year.
In Simi Garewal’s show, Preeti had told about the accident that happened with her father that a few days before the accident, she was having a strange feeling. She used to read newspaper daily in school and one day she told her friend Shagun that for some reason she felt that she was going to read some bad news related to her father in the newspaper. To which the friend said that you have gone mad.

Preeti studied at Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Shimla.
Preeti was in school when the actress’s father met with an accident. One morning a nun came to wake him up and told him very lovingly that she had to go somewhere. Preeti found this strange, because the nuns usually treated her rudely due to her mischief in school. He was only told that a minor accident had occurred.
He was taken straight to the hospital, where he saw his mother on a stretcher. Mother was unconscious. No one told anything about the father. Next day when Preeti returned to school, school was going on and she was made to sit in the parlor. It was there that he read the news of his father’s death in the newspaper.

Preeti had told that she did not give any reaction on that incident for months. She didn’t even cry for about six months. He was never allowed to see his father’s dead body, so his mind did not accept this truth. Then one night suddenly she screamed in her sleep and all the pain came out with tears.
Remembering her father, Preeti had said that he always gave her equal status. He used to say that daughters should not be brought up weak. If the son carried the bag, the daughter also carried it. If daughters learned to cook, sons also learned.
brother was stoned in a fight
Preity Zinta was very fearless and mischievous since childhood. Once he had a fight with his elder brother. In anger he picked up a stone and hit it on his brother’s head. Brother started crying. Then Preeti remembered her father’s words. His father always used to say, “Rajputs do not cry.”

Preeti has two brothers, Dipankar and Manish. Dipankar is an officer in the Indian Army, while Manish lives in California, USA.
What happened next, Preeti slapped her brother and said, “Aren’t you a Rajput? Stop crying!”
Brother was bleeding from his head, but he sat quietly. Just then mother came. Preeti knew that now the beating was certain, so she hid under the table out of fear. She kept sleeping there the whole night.
The family members thought that Preeti had run away from home out of fear. Even the police were called. When the maid who cleaned the house came in the morning, it was found that Preeti was sleeping under the table.

Preeti often shares pictures with her mother on social media.
Didn’t have books, still topped in the subject
In the TV show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, Preeti’s mother had told that Preeti used to study a lot in school, but after coming home, she used to open books less. When her mother came to know a day before the 10th English paper that Preeti did not have an English book, she got very nervous and immediately brought the book from the market.
Preeti was not worried, but her mother felt that now she would fail. But when the result came, everyone was surprised because Preeti stood first in English in the entire Himachal Pradesh.
After school, Preeti did Honors in English from St. Bedes College, Shimla and then did her graduation in Psychology and Criminal Psychology. He had not planned to go into acting, but fate had something else in store.
Career started in an interesting way In the year 1996, Preeti had gone to the birthday party of one of her friends. There he met Kunal, an ad filmmaker. During the conversation, Kunal liked Preeti’s personality so much that two days later he called and said that he had written a chocolate ad keeping Preeti in mind and he called Preeti for the audition.
Preeti was a little nervous, but she thought what would be the harm in giving the audition? There would be just four-five people there and the matter would be over, but when she reached for the audition, there were about 50 girls standing there. Preeti got nervous, but still she gathered courage and spoke just two lines with chocolate in her hand. From there, luck took a turn.
The actress spoke just two lines and was selected. This perk was an add on chocolate. After this he did the famous ad of Liril and from here he started gaining recognition.
