Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday condemned the US to carry out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear installations and described it as a serious violation of international law, United Nations Charter and Nuclear Non-Commerration Treaty. In a stringent statement posted on X, Araghchi accused the US of the United Nations Security Council of targeting peaceful nuclear installations and ‘criminal behavior’. The Iranian Foreign Minister said in a post, ‘This morning incidents are going to instill and it will have long -term results.

Every member of the United Nations should be worried about this very dangerous, chaotic and criminal behavior. Citing the provisions of the United Nations Charter, Araghchi also said that Iran reserves all options to exercise its right to self -defense. A few moments after the post of the Foreign Minister, Iran’s Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the attacks as a direct attack on its sovereignty and called for immediate action from the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Iran announced that it would respond with full force to protect its sovereignty. At the same time, he criticized IAEA and alleged that this institution takes the favor of ‘inciting war’. Tehran warned that the silence of the international community in front of American actions would give rise to ‘unprecedented and comprehensive danger’. Also said that the global community should not forget that it is the US who started a war against Iran during the ongoing diplomatic process. Calling the United Nations to call an emergency session, Iran said that the US is working out of international norms. Iran, while targeting Israel, said that the US is helping ‘a massacre, occupying governance’ with its actions.

The statement came after the US military campaign, in which its B-2 bombers targeted three major Iranian nuclear sites: Fordo, Natanj and Isfahan last night.
