Delhi’s air quality was again recorded in the ‘very poor’ category on Sunday, with the overall AQI reaching 391, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.
According to the data, 19 monitoring stations reported ‘severe’ pollution levels, while another 19 recorded ‘very poor’ levels above 300. The air quality early warning system has predicted that the city will remain in the ‘very poor’ category from Monday to Wednesday. As per CPCB guidelines, an AQI of 401–500 is considered ‘severe’.
According to CPCB guidelines, AQI is 0-50 ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’ and 401-500 ‘severe’.
Fog forecast on Monday
The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that on Sunday the maximum temperature was recorded at 26.7 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 10.4 degrees Celsius, which is slightly below normal. Humidity at 5:30 pm was 68 percent. Moderate fog is expected on Monday, the temperature is expected to be maximum 25 degrees and minimum around 10 degrees.
