Imran Khan is serving a 14 -year sentence in the 50 billion Pakistani rupee corruption case.
Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in 8 cases related to the riots of 9 May 2023. Imran Khan’s supporters attacked the house of military officers (GHQ) of the Army in Rawalpindi and military officers in Lahore on 9 May.
Imran Khan was accused that he had conspired for the riot. Imran’s bail was decided by a three -judge bench led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. Imran is currently lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
Even after this decision of the court, Imran will not be released from jail, as many other cases are pending against him and they are serving a 14 -year sentence in the 50 billion Pakistani rupee corruption case.
Imran Khan has been lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since 2023.
Imran’s lawyer said- Khan was in custody at the time of the incident
In November 2024, a counter terrorism court in Lahore refused to bail Imran in these cases. Subsequently, the Lahore High Court also dismissed his petition on 24 June. Imran Khan appealed against it in the Supreme Court.
On behalf of Imran, the lawyer had argued that he was in custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during the riots, so it was not possible to join the incidents. He described the allegations in FIR as baseless.
The police cited the statements of witnesses, WhatsApp chat and voice-matching test against him. But the Supreme Court said that the evidence of evidence will be investigated in the trial court itself.

Imran Khan was accused of inciting riots
There were large-scale riots in Pakistan on 9 May 2023 after Imran Khan’s Al-Kadir Trust corruption case. The protesters damaged several government and military buildings.
After this, many leaders of Imran Khan and PTI were accused of inciting riots. Many cases were registered on Imran, including attacks on the corps commander’s house in Lahore.
The 50 billion scam is Al-Kadir Trust Case
- According to Pakistani media reports, there are 4 important characters in this case. Imran Khan and wife Bushra Bibi, billionaire land mafia Malik Riyaz and Bushra’s friend Farah Gogi.
- The Government of Pakistan alleges that when Khan became Prime Minister, he implicated Malik Riyaz in a money laundering case. Riyaz’s property worth billions of rupees was seized in Britain. One of his henchmen was also arrested in London, which recovered 40 billion Pakistani rupees.
- It is alleged that there were two deals after this case. Under this, the UK government returned the money recovered from Riyaz’s henchman to the Government of Pakistan.
- It is alleged that Imran did not inform the cabinet about this money. Rather, he started a university to give religious training by creating a trust called Al Qadir. Its board of directors had 3 members. Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and Farah Gogi.
- The FIR of this case states that Malik Riaz gave billions of rupees land for this. Diamond ring was also gifted to Bushra Bibi. In return, all the cases of Riyaz were abolished.
- Pakistan’s home minister Rana Sanaullah said after Imran’s arrest- this is the biggest scam in the history of Pakistan. The government exchequer was hit by at least 50 billion rupees. Despite this, Imran or Bushra did not come for questioning even once in 13 months. In 3 years, only 32 students took admission in this university.
- According to Geo News, in view of the whole case, Imran Khan and his wife were accused of taking bribe of Rs 1 thousand 955 crore.
This picture is that of Farah Gogi, a special friend of Imran’s wife Bushra. The day Imran’s government fell, Farah escaped from the country on the same day. He has several cases registered in Pakistan.
Imran caught by wife’s audio leaks
- Pakistani media reports published news about an audio of Malik Riyaz and his daughter Amber. This video leaked was 2 minutes 17 seconds. In this, Riyaz and Amber were talking to Bushra to deal with transactions and to settle any file. In this, Amber tells the father that Imran’s wife Bushra Bibi 5 is asking for a carat diamond ring. In return, she will get Riyaz contracts from Imran and will also end the case against him.
- According to the conversation in the leaked tape, Amber tells her father- I have a conversation with Farah Gogi. She is saying that Bushra Bibi needs a diamond of 5 carats, not 3. She will get the ring made themselves, but we have to pay it. Bushra and Farah have talked to Khan Saheb. They will immediately get all the contracts of the contract OK. On this, Malik Riyaz says- no problem. Send 5 carat diamonds.
- It is believed that this bargain of contracts took place after taking the land of Al Qadir University.
