Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized US pressure on the issue of oil purchase and said that India was not going to bow down. Addressing the Valdai Policy Forum held on Thursday in Sochi city, he said that PM Modi will never make a decision that is against India’s sovereignty.

Putin said that if high tariffs are placed on the trade partners of Russia, it will affect the energy prices of the whole world. Prices will rise and the US Federal Reserve will have to keep the interest rates high in compulsion, which will slow the US economy.

Putin warned that if India stops buying Russian oil, it would have to lose 9 to 10 billion dollars. Putin said that in a country like India, people keep an eye on the decisions of their leaders and they would never want their country to bow down to anyone.

Putin also said that without Russian oil, the world’s economy will also be damaged and if its supply is closed, the oil prices can increase above 100 dollars per barrel.

Advised to fix business imbalance with India

Putin described Modi’s friend and said that he can interact with him with confidence. The Russian President expressed happiness over his visit to India in early December. He also directed his government that concrete steps should be taken to overcome the trade imbalance that has been created due to India’s large scale buying crude oil.

Putin said that India can buy more agricultural products and medicines from Russia to cure trade imbalance.

In his speech, Putin also took a sarcasm at America. He said that he pressurizes countries like Volthers not to buy Russian energy, while Russia itself is dependent on Russia.

Told European countries- forget to sleep peacefully

Putin said that the European Union leaders are spreading panic among the people instead of fixing the problems of their country and showing fear of war. They repeatedly keep telling their people that Russia is about to attack NATO countries. I will tell them that they should forget this and sleep peacefully.

Putin said that the leaders who spread such things, are either extremely unacceptable or cleverly cheating their citizens, so that the public forgets the real issues.

Putin also said that Russia has no option to weaken. He said that history is witness that Russia never weakened. Those who are dreaming of defeating Russia should never try to incite Russia. They will always suffer losses. Putin said that there is never any doubt and there will be no further.
