Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed between India and New Zealand on 27 April. Now there will be no export duty on goods like leather products, textiles, plastics and engineering goods sent from India to New Zealand. Due to which these labour-intensive sectors i.e. labor intensive sectors will directly benefit.
On this, Piyush Goyal had said that this FTA reflects trust, shared values and a shared vision of sustainable economic development. This agreement will also become a gateway for India to access Oceania and Pacific Island markets.

Modi said- India and Australia will also jointly develop Critical Minerals Corridor. Space tracking terminal will be built on Cocos (Keeling) Island, which will help India’s Gaganyaan mission.
