Pakistan cricket team is on the backfoot on the very first day of the Leeds Test against England. He scored 171 runs in the first innings.
By the end of the day’s play on Wednesday, England had scored 112 runs for 2 wickets in their first innings. Captain Joe Root returned unbeaten on 37 and Jordan Cox on 23 runs.
Opener Ben Duckett scored 15 and Emilio Gai scored 33 runs. Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Ali got one wicket each.
Pakistan lost a wicket for the first time
Pakistan had a bad start. The team lost the wicket on the very first ball. When Olly Robinson made Azan Awais LBW on zero on a fuller length ball.
Captain Shan Masood, who came to bat in his place, also returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs. He was also LBWed by Robinson.
Till lunch break, Pakistan’s score was 23/2. However, the game had to be stopped for a long time due to rain.
5 batsmen out in the second session, Shafiq’s fifty
Abdullah Shafiq scored fifty on behalf of the Pakistani team which returned due to rain. Whereas, opener Imam ul Haq added 42 runs. Both made a partnership of 91 runs. This partnership was broken by Olly Robinson. He bowled Shafiq.

The condition of the team worsened after Shafiq was out. By the time of tea break, it had lost 7 wickets at the score of 150 runs. In the second session of the first day, the Pakistani team lost 5 wickets in scoring 127 runs.
The team did not take time to get all out in the last session. Olly Robinson and Josh Tong took 5 wickets each.
