Islamabad march continues under the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Sohail Afridi demanding the release of Imran Khan.
The situation is worsening in Pakistan due to the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The long march of Imran supporters has now reached just 30 kilometers away from Peshawar.
In view of the march, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday invited Imran supporters for talks. This statement of Shahbaz is important because on Monday itself his government had refused to talk to Imran supporters.
However, Imran supporters have clearly rejected Shehbaz’s proposal for talks. They say that they will not back down from demanding the release of Imran Khan.

Pictures of March…

In Lucky Marwat, only crowd of people was visible for several kilometers on the road.

Holding PTI flags and Imran posters in their hands, supporters marched towards Islamabad in buses, trucks, cars, motorcycles and rickshaws.

As soon as the long march started in Lakki Marwat, people wore white clothes and waved PTI flags.
Shahbaz said – economic recovery can be harmed
Supporters of Imran’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) started this march on October 4. Shehbaz Sharif has been continuously warning that prolonged protests could harm Pakistan’s efforts to improve its economic condition.
The Prime Minister said that the government has been working to stabilize the country’s economy for the last two and a half years. He said that any attempt to stop these efforts would amount to enmity with the state.
Shahbaz said,
We will not let this happen. The law will take its course. The safety of people’s lives and property is our responsibility and we will ensure it at all costs.

If the march continues further, Shahbaz’s chair will be in danger.
Avinash Mohanani, who was in the Indian High Commission in Pakistan, said that the long march of Imran supporters will increase pressure on the Shahbaz government as soon as it reaches Punjab from Khyber. If there is widespread support, it will be difficult even for Army Chief Munir to stop it.
For this reason, efforts to stop the march are intensifying. Imran’s popularity still remains and Munir holds the key to his release.
At the same time, according to senior fellow and political analyst Sushant Sarin, Asim Munir is cornering Shahbaz Sharif on the pretext of long march.
According to Sarin, Munir first deployed frontier forces in Khyber along the route of the march. After this, on Tuesday Shahbaz was asked to call Imran supporters for talks.
He says that Munir wants to present Shehbaz as a weak Prime Minister, so that people’s anger against the government increases. Looking at the history of Pakistan’s politics, Shahbaz’s departure from power is considered certain.

Imran is in jail since 2023, wife and sisters are also imprisoned
73-year-old Imran Khan is lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since 2023. More than 100 cases are registered against him. Sentences have been pronounced in three cases.
The sentence is 14 years in the Al Qadir Trust case, 10 years in the document leak case and 3 years in the Toshakhana case. Imran’s wife Bushra is also in jail in the Toshakhana case.
In September, Imran’s sisters Aleema, Uzma and Noreen were also taken into preventive custody.
On August 18, the Supreme Court had ordered to shift Imran to a private hospital in Islamabad for medical examination and treatment.
On the night of 20 August, he was taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) instead of a private hospital. After investigation he was sent back to jail.
Preparation to stop march before Islamabad
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced that the march would continue. Supporters from Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bannu and Lakki Marwat joined the march from Gandhi Chowk.
Prime Minister Sharif’s political advisor Rana Sanaullah said that the protesters would not be allowed to enter Islamabad. The central government has deployed additional security forces on the roads leading to the capital.

Shipping containers have been placed on the road to stop the protest in Islamabad.
Two rounds of talks with the government, but no agreement was reached
Two rounds of talks were held between the government and PTI on Friday and Saturday, but no consensus was reached. PTI demanded an immediate meeting with Imran and shifting him to a hospital where his personal doctor could examine and treat him. A condition for canceling the protest was set by the government.
