According to the Pakistani Punjab government, now 1700 villages of the state have been submerged due to floods and thousands of acres of crops have been destroyed.
Pakistan government minister Ahsan Iqbal alleged that India is using water as a weapon. He said that India deliberately released water from its dams, causing severe floods in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
Iqbal told a TV channel on Wednesday- India suddenly released water in Ravi, Sutlej and Chenab rivers. This caused floods, due to which 7 people died in Gujranwala division and thousands of acres of land drowned.
According to Al Jazeera’s report, around 776 people, including 197 children, have died and 993 have been injured due to floods and landslides in Pakistan since this year. While more than 4000 houses have been damaged.

Lahore Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza says that at this time the Ravi river is flowing 2.20 lakh cusecs of water, while the river has a capacity of 2.50 lakh cusecs.

The government of Pakistan Punjab says that there has been flood in rivers due to heavy rains and release of extra water from India.

Due to floods in Kartarpur, Pakistan, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, the pilgrimage center of Guru Nanak was also flooded.

Floods in the Sutlej, Ravi and Chenab rivers lost 22 people in Lahore in the last 24 hours.

According to media reports, the Pakistani Army and Rescue team have so far taken over 1 million people to safe places.

Iqbal said in another video that release of water from India is the worst attack. India prevents water in rivers and then suddenly releases water from the dam, causing people’s lives and goods to be endangered. Issues like water should be kept separate from politics. “
He also accused India that he did not inform Pakistan about time release of water, which is very wrong.

Alert issued in Sindh province
Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert in Sindh province that the government should take people from villages and low -lying areas on the banks of the Indus River and its tributaries to safe bases.
At the same time, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered the officials to intensify relief and rescue operations. He said that the loss should be kept and people should be prevented from going to flood areas.

India had informed Pakistan on a humanitarian grounds 4 days in view of the flood situation in the Tawi River of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs had stated that this step has been taken completely for the purpose of humanitarian aid.
The Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Sunday informed Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry about the flood. This was the first time such information was shared through high commission.
