Ceasefire agreement was negotiated between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Doha, the capital of Qatar on Saturday.
Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire on Saturday to stop the conflict that has been going on since October 9. This was announced by Qatar’s Foreign Ministry by issuing a statement.
According to the statement, talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan took place in Doha under the mediation of Qatar and Turkey. In this, both sides agreed to immediately implement ceasefire. There was also talk about making arrangements to bring permanent peace and stability on the border.
The statement said,

Both countries have also agreed to hold follow-up meetings in the next few days, so that the ceasefire can be made sustainable.

Qatar described the agreement as a major diplomatic success and expressed hope that it would reduce tension on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and lay the foundation for lasting peace in the region.

Earlier, there was a 48-hour ceasefire between the two countries on Wednesday, October 15, which ended at 6 pm on Friday. It was agreed to take it forward. But after a few hours Pakistan attacked.

According to the UN, 37 civilians were killed and 425 injured in 6 provinces of Afghanistan this week in Pakistani attacks.
Afghanistan’s Taliban government accuses Pakistan of targeting civilian areas, while Pakistan says it took action on terrorist hideouts.
