Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif warned on Saturday that if an agreement is not reached in the ongoing ceasefire talks with Afghanistan, then open war could start.
According to news agency Reuters, Asif said- If talks fail, Pakistan will have no option other than open war with Afghanistan. However, it seems that both sides want peace.
This statement has come when the second round of peace between Afghanistan and Pakistan is going to be held in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday.
According to Doha talks, ceasefire will be discussed
In the meeting held in Istanbul on Saturday, the two countries will discuss ways to maintain peace, as was decided in Doha. The time and place of the conversation have not been disclosed yet. The Afghan team is being led by Minister Haji Najeeb. Two security personnel from Pakistan are involved in this.
According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, these talks are being held to try for peace and a permanent ceasefire after two weeks of heavy clashes on the border. Dozens of people, including civilians, were killed in these clashes.

Pakistan had attacked Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
Earlier it was said that Taliban decisions are being taken from Delhi.
Khawaja Asif had said two weeks ago that Taliban decisions were being taken in Delhi. He accused Afghanistan of fighting a proxy war for India.
Talking to Geo News, Asif had said on the ceasefire with Taliban – I doubt that this ceasefire will last, because the Afghan Taliban is getting support from Delhi.
He warned that if Pakistan was provoked, military action would be taken. Asif said that we have full capacity to respond. If they increase the scope of war, we will attack. But we are also ready for talks.
Pakistan attacked Afghanistan on 9 October
The conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan started on 9 October. Pakistan attacked Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) positions in Kabul. After this, Afghanistan blamed Pakistan for the border dispute and airspace violation.
According to the UN, 37 Afghan civilians were killed and 425 injured in Pakistani attacks. Afghanistan’s Taliban government accuses Pakistan of targeting civilian areas, while Pakistan says it took action on terrorist hideouts.
Actually, the root of the dispute between the two countries is the Durand Line, which was drawn between India and Afghanistan during the British era. It divides the traditional land of both the countries and the Pathans on both sides never accept it.
