The Indian Navy is going to conduct naval firing exercises in the Arabian Sea today, for which notice to airman (NOTAM) has been issued. Pakistan Navy will also practice in its area from 11 to 12 August 2025. The naval exercises of the two countries will be at a distance of just 60 nipple miles (about 111 km) from each other. This reflects tension and military activities in the nearest region.
Start and notice of practice
Indian navy Today, on August 11, it has announced to start firing exercises in the northern part of the Arabian Sea. A warning has been issued for this, in which fishing boats, oil tankers and other ships have been asked to stay away from the area. This exercise will run from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

At the same time, the Pakistan Navy has also declared two days of practice in its area from 4 am to 3 pm on August 11 to 3 pm. Care is being taken in the region due to the exercises of both countries being so close.
Operation vermilion After vigilance
This exercise is being done after operations vermilion, which India started against Pakistan in May 2025. In this operation, the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy jointly attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan, which was the response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April.
26 people lost their lives in that attack. During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Navy showed a strong and aggressive attitude in the Arabian Sea, which cleared the preparation and strength of India’s war. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said at that time that if Pakistan does such an act again, the Navy will do a surgical strike.
Close to 60 nautical miles
Tension in the area has increased due to the time and place of practice of both countries. The distance of 60 nautical miles is considered very low in the sea, especially when there is already tension between two countries. This close shows that both countries want to showcase their naval strengths and preparations. Experts believe that this practice is not just training, but also a message that both countries are cautious for the protection of their borders.

Marine domination of India
This step is an attempt from India to protect its western maritime area and maintain maritime domination. The Arabian Sea is very important for India, because a large way of freight and freight passes through here. Since Operation Sindoor, the Indian Navy has been continuously showing its strength, so that no country can infiltrate the border of India. Parallel practice from Pakistan is also an indication that it wants to strengthen its position.

What can be the effect?
These exercises can threaten peace in the area, especially if there is a misunderstanding. However, both countries have said that this is a regular practice, but the atmosphere after operation vermilion makes it sensitive. If there is a small mistake, stress may increase further. India has already alerted its Navy. Pakistan has also increased its preparations.
