Pyitongtarn Shinawatra is 37 years old. She is the youngest leader elected to the post of Prime Minister.

In Thailand, the Parliament has elected Paytongtarn Shinawatra as the Prime Minister. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Paytongtarn is the third leader from the Shinawatra family to become Prime Minister. Before this, Yingluck Shinawatra has been the Prime Minister of Thailand. She is Thaksin’s sister and Paytongtarn’s aunt.

Thaksin Shinawatra was ousted from power through a coup. Piatongtarn has become the second female Prime Minister of Thailand after her aunt. She is the leader of the ruling party ‘Pheu Thai’. However, Piatongtarn is not an MP yet.

In Thailand, Shretha Thavisin was removed from the post of Prime Minister by the court just 2 days ago. He was accused of including a lawyer with a criminal record in the cabinet. The court called this move a violation of ethics and held the PM guilty.

Shretha left the post within a year
Prime Minister Shreetha could remain in power for only one year. He became the Prime Minister of Thailand on 22 August 2023. There are currently 493 MPs in the National Assembly of Thailand. To become the Prime Minister, any candidate needs the support of 247 MPs.
