Since childhood, there was an inclination towards the theater

Born on 30 May 1955 in a middle class Gujarati family in Mumbai, Paresh Rawal had an inclination towards theater since childhood. He wanted to become an actor. His father Dahyal Rawal was a businessman. He never stopped Paresh from doing drama. Paresh Rawal used to participate in plays since school days. At the age of 15, he first got a chance to work in a drama.

Meet the form at the time of theater

Paresh Rawal met Swaroop Sampat while working in the theater itself. In 1975, both were college students. Seeing a stage performance of Paresh Rawal, Swaroop Sampat became his fan. She was so excited that as soon as the show was over, she reached the backstage and started asking Paresh’s name and work.

Praised his acting. This short meeting of Paresh and Swaroop made both of them very good friends. Then it did not take long for both of them to reach love with friendship.

At first sight, the nature was shocked

Paresh Rawal shared an interesting love story during an interview. The actor had said- for the first time, he was turned to him on seeing the form. When he told this to his friend Mahendra Joshi, he said that you know that you are the daughter of the boss in which you are working. Seven rounds under the tree

After being in a relationship for 12 years, Paresh Rawal married Swaroop Sampat in 1987. Their two sons are Aditya and Anirudh.

It was difficult for Paresh Rawal to survive while working in the theater. So he got a job in Bank of Baroda. Paresh Rawal had such a passion for the theater that he started getting bored with a bank job.

After leaving the bank’s job, when Paresh became a victim of financial crisis, he used to take money from Sampat, his girlfriend for pocket expenses. This was revealed by Paresh on Anupam Kher’s show. Let me tell you that Sampat has been an actress, not only that, Sampat also won the title of Miss India in the year 1979.

Career starts with Gujarati film

In Paresh Rawal’s films, the acting started with the Gujarati film ‘Naseeb Ni Balihari’, which was released in 1982. After this, in Bollywood, he made his debut in 1984 with director Ketan Mehta’s film ‘Holi’. Like the name of this film, Paresh Rawal’s film career canvas also includes many colored characters.

Apart from Gujarati and Hindi, Paresh Rawal has also won his acting in Marathi and Telugu films, but the most popularity he got from Baburao, the character of director Priyadarshan’s film ‘Hera Pheri’.

Hera Pheri’s character became a neck noose

Paresh Rawal’s character Baburao was highly appreciated in the film ‘Hera Pheri’ series. Even today, this character is very much discussed, but now this character has become a noose for Paresh. Paresh Rawal mentioned this in an interview with Lallantop.

Paresh said that his work is praised, but he is a noose for him. At the same time, Paresh told that he went to different directors and requested him to make another film by taking the role of Baburao and served a different story to the audience, but it could not happen.

Baburao’s character was suffocating

The actor had said- Baburao’s character has become a noose of my neck. Everyone wanted to take me in a role like Hera Pheri. I was suffocating this character. Then after the release of Hera Pheri, I went to Vishal Bhardwaj in 2007. He told him that a film is ‘Dancer in the Dark’. There is a lot of tragic story. The girl who is in it, applies thick glasses and looks absolutely Baburao’s daughter. I said that I want another character inside this getup. He said that I do not remake.

The sequel should be like the film ‘Lag Raho Munna Bhai’

Paresh further said- I went to R Balki in 2022. I said give me a second character in this getup, this character suffocates. When you sequel to the sequel, you show the same thing again. The sequel should be like the film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’. Hera Pheri’s Baburao is the character of 500 million Goodwill. It can be flown with this, but there is no talk there either.

Munna Bhai was going to work in MBBS

Paresh Rawal was about to play Dr. Asthana in the film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, but he left the film. The character was later played by Boman Irani. While sharing an anecdote related to ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ during an interview, Paresh Rawal said- Vidhu Vinod Chopra contacted the film. When it came to the fee, I demanded 15 lakh rupees.

I will do a film even for one rupee

Urine recovered 15 days after drinking

In an interview to The Lalantop, Paresh Rawal shared an anecdote related to drinking urine. The actor said- Rajkumar Santoshi’s film ‘Militage’ suffered a knee injury during the shooting. Treatment was being done at Nanavati Hospital. At the same time, Veeru Devgan also came to meet someone in the hospital. When he came to know about me, he came to me and asked what has happened?

I told them about my leg injury. He first advised me to get up in the morning and drink his urine. He said that all fighters do this. You will never have any problem. They asked me not to eat alcohol, mutton or tobacco, which I stopped.

Then I drank my first urine in the morning after sip-sip-sip-sip. It benefited. After doing this for 15 days, when the X-ray report came, the doctors were also surprised. The doctor saw a white lining in the X-ray, which shows that it is cured. Whereas it usually takes two to two and a half months to recover the injury.
