According to the complaint, Prabhjot Kaur and her husband Mandeep Singh had asked the family to come to village Jethuwal on the pretext of celebrating Lohri and both of them went out for a walk. According to the police, Prabhjot Kaur was married to Mandeep about seven years ago. After marriage, both of them went to Australia, where they got PR. A few days ago, Mandeep came to India with his wife Prabhjot and six-year-old son. According to the family, Mandeep left the child at his in-laws’ house and brought his wife to Amritsar on the pretext of outing.
Dead body found inside the hotel
On Monday, both of them stayed in a private hotel in Amritsar. After this, Mandeep killed Prabhjot with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot. The family of the deceased alleges that Mandeep had doubts about his wife’s character, due to which there was a dispute going on between the two for a long time. Information about the incident was received on dial 112 at around 1:30 pm. ACP Lakhwinder Singh Kaler said that on receiving information about the body of a woman being found in the hotel, the police team immediately reached the spot and started investigation.
