A 24-year-old woman from Sangrur, Punjab died under suspicious circumstances in Canada. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Anu Malra, resident of village Manki (Sangrur). Anu was working in Canada on a work permit.

Anu’s father Gurpreet Singh said that his daughter Anu Malara went to Canada for studies about 4 years ago and was now working there on a work permit. Last afternoon, someone close to Anu called him and told him that she was not well. After some time, it was known that Anu had died. According to the family, Anu was ill for quite some time.
The family appealed to the government for help
The victim’s family has requested the central and state governments for help so that Anu’s body can be brought to India. The family said that their daughter was living in Nova Scotia province of Canada. Some Indian students from Nova Scotia are helping in bringing the body to Punjab. But with the help of the government, we can bring our daughter’s body to India.
