KP Oli was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Nepal for the fourth time on 15 July.
Nepal Prime Minister KP Oli said on Saturday that the situation in the country cannot become like that of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. There is no place for any kind of political violence and anarchy here. Oli stressed that Nepal is not a photocopy machine of any country.
Oli said that there is no place in the country now for the insurgency that has been going on in the country for decades. The government will not allow any such activities to take place in the country. KP Oli had arrived in Kathmandu to launch a book titled “Into the Fire”. This book has been written by Simrik Air Chairman Captain Rameshwar Thapa.
Former PM Prachanda said there is a need to learn from Bangladesh
Nepal’s former PM and Maoist Center President Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had last month talked about learning lessons from Bangladesh. He had asked KP Oli’s coalition government to learn a lesson from Bangladesh’s political instability and unrest.
Responding to Prachanda’s statement, Oli said on Saturday, “I want to tell those who advise us to learn from others to learn themselves too.”
Oli said that Nepal has its own identity. Its civilization and culture are different. Therefore, an incident like Bangladesh cannot be repeated in Nepal.

Prachanda resigned from the post of Prime Minister of Nepal on July 12. He had failed to prove majority in the House.
Recently, two youths raised slogans against PM Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at an open theatre in Kathmandu. After the incident, the police arrested both the youths, who were released after 2 days.
Sheikh Hasina had to leave Bangladesh after the violence
Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country on August 5 due to violence. Violent protests against reservation have been going on in Bangladesh since June 5. After 2 months of violence, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and came to India on August 5.
After Hasina’s resignation, an interim government was formed in Bangladesh under the leadership of Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus. According to the interim government, about 1 thousand people died in the anti-Hasina protests.
