Landslides and floods died in two days after heavy rains in Nepal since Friday, while 9 are missing. According to media reports, the biggest damage occurred in Ilam district of East Nepal, where 37 people died in Landslide.

The rescue is getting difficult due to roads being jammed in many areas. Rescuers are trying to reach the affected areas on foot.
The situation in the capital Kathmandu also remains dangerous. Many houses and settlements have been submerged due to rising water level of rivers. Security forces are engaged in rescue from helicopters and motorboats.
The Nepal government has declared public holidays across the country on Monday and Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in more than 12 districts.

Damage over the long season of rain

The water level of the Koshi river in southeastern Nepal has increased more than double. Local officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra said that all 56 gates of Koshi barrage have been opened, while only 10-12 gates are open.
Hundreds of passengers stranded due to road closure
Many main roads have been closed due to landslides, due to which traffic is completely stalled. Hundreds of passengers returning home are trapped after the Dasain festival. Dasain is the biggest religious festival in Nepal, in which people go to the village to meet their families.
Domestic flights were canceled on Saturday due to bad weather. Although international flights are running with some delay. Kathmandu Airport spokesperson Ranji Sherpa said- domestic flights are completely closed, but international flights are normally running.
People said- water entered our houses, now nothing is left
A woman told the media that suddenly water and debris entered our homes at night. Many people lost everything. Another woman from Kathmandu said- our house was flooded with water up to the waist. Now we have nothing left.
The Nepal government has asked people to take precautions near rivers and hilly areas. Also, help is being sought from the international community. Experts have warned that if quick steps are not taken to stop climate change, such disasters will increase in South Asia.
