Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away on October 8, but audiences will be able to see him on the big screen many times in the coming days.
According to media reports, 5 films of Nana Patekar are in the queue for release, which include different genres like horror-comedy, biographical drama, crime thriller and romantic comedy.
These projects include Maddock Films’ ‘Shakti Shalini’, ‘Eetha’, ‘The Confession of Mary’, ‘Kukku Ki Kundali’ and ‘Vedanta’. Through these films, the audience will get to see different colors of his acting.
1. ‘Shakti Shalini’: Will be seen in the role of Tantrik, preparation for release in December
Nana Patekar is playing an important role in the film ‘Shakti Shalini’, part of the horror-comedy universe of Maddock Films. Being directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, this film stars Aneet Padda and Vishal Jethwa in lead roles. According to reports, Nana Patekar will be seen as a Tantrik in it.

It is the story of a common woman ‘Shakti’ who becomes the protector of a vengeful spirit ‘Shalini’. Nana Patekar had completed the shooting of this film and he wanted to do dubbing after seeing its final cut. The film is expected to release on 24 December 2026.
2. ‘Eetha’: Biopic on Lavani artist Vithabai
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film ‘Eetha’ is inspired by the life of Maharashtra’s famous Tamasha and Lavani folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. Shraddha Kapoor is in the lead role in this biographical drama, while Nana Patekar, Randeep Hooda and Anant Joshi will also be seen in important roles.
The film traces the journey of a great personality associated with the folk art tradition of Maharashtra. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 4 December 2026.
3. ‘The Confession of Mary’: Crime drama based on a 1966 murder case
Nana Patekar plays the role of a Catholic priest named ‘Father Benedict’ in the crime drama ‘The Confession of Mary’ directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan.
The film is based on the famous 1966 Madatharuvi massacre in Kerala, which revolves around the murder of a woman, Mariakutty, and the allegations against a priest.

The film also stars Adil Hussain, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gautam Rode, Joy Sengupta and Neha Mahajan. The film was selected for screening at the Toronto International Film Festival. Co-producer Subhash Kale told that just before his death, Nana Patekar had to come to Mumbai for dubbing of a line.
4. ‘Cuckoo Ki Kundli’: Bhuvan Bam and Vamika will be seen with Gabbi
‘Kukku Ki Kundli’ directed by Sharan Sharma is also included in the list of Nana Patekar’s unreleased films. This romantic comedy film stars Nana Patekar along with digital star Bhuvan Bam and actress Vamika Gabbi in the lead roles.
The story of the film revolves around complications related to horoscopes, which create disputes between a couple and their families. A light-hearted and family style of Nana Patekar will be seen in this film.

5. ‘Vedanta’: Will be seen with Vikrant Massey
His fifth film is ‘Vedanta’, directed by Rajeshwar Pandey Raj. Vikrant Massey, Sandeepa Dhar and Mukesh Tiwari will be seen with Nana Patekar in this film. However, the makers have not yet officially shared much information related to the story of this film, Nana Patekar’s character and its release date. Nana Patekar’s presence will remain on the big screen even after his departure through these 5 different genre films.

Last farewell given with 3-gun salute at Pune farmhouse
Nana Patekar was cremated with full state honors on Thursday night at a farmhouse in Donje village, Pune. The police force gave him a 3-gun salute. During this time, many film personalities and politicians including actor Jackie Shroff, director Anil Sharma, Anees Bazmee and producer Firoz Nadiadwala came to console and pay tribute to the bereaved family.
