The case of suspicious death of 33 year old model and actress Twisha Sharma in Bhopal is now gaining momentum. On one hand, Bhopal’s sessions court on Monday has outrightly rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Twisha’s absconding lawyer-husband Samarth Singh, while on the other hand, ‘Aaj Tak’ has got hold of the exclusive WhatsApp chat between Twisha and her mother, which is dated May 7, just five days before her death. The things that have come to light in these chats are heart-wrenching.
In this conversation with her mother, Twisha looks very scared and mentally broken. She wrote many serious things about her in-laws and accused her husband Samarth of doubting her character. Twisha had written in the message sent to her mother – I am very upset… ‘These people are very bad. Doubt. Samarth asks whose child is in my stomach.
Stating that her life was in danger, Twisha further pleaded – ‘Mother, I am feeling very suffocated, these people will neither let me cry nor give a reason to laugh. I am badly trapped… take me away from here… these people will not let me live.
Elsewhere in the chat, Twisha expressed her helplessness and wrote, ‘My life has become hell. These people are very cruel. Samarth doesn’t talk to me properly.
Referring to her husband in a chat, Twisha tells her mother, ‘I am not feeling good here… this man talks mean things… I am afraid that the fight may escalate further. Go and buy something when the heat cools down a bit, not now because anything can happen here.
Told my friend- I am stuck
Meanwhile, the chat between Twisha and her friend has also surfaced on social media. In this chat, Twisha is further strengthening the allegations of mental and physical torture that she faced. While sharing her pain with her friend, Twisha had written, “I am trapped friend, just don’t get trapped, move forward thoughtfully…” Twisha writes, ‘Marriage creates a family, it does not mean that a person should stop doing his own work. Wherever you live, you should keep moving forward for yourself.
Twisha was found hanging from the noose
Twisha on the night of 11-12 May Bhopal She was found hanging in her in-laws house in Katara Hills. . The in-laws had talked about death by hanging. The maternal side is continuously alleging murder and dowry harassment regarding the death of Twisha, who married Samarth Singh in December 2025. SIT has been formed to investigate the matter. The husband is absconding since the incident.
According to Twisha’s family members, within just 5 months of marriage, Twisha’s weight had reduced by 15 kg due to mental and physical torture. Her cousin Meenakshi alleged that the harassment increased when Twisha lost her ‘work from home’ job and became pregnant, which her husband refused to accept.
Shock from court, reward of Rs 10 thousand on husband
During the hearing of this high-profile case on Monday, immense tension was seen in the court room. Accused Samarth’s lawyer tried to prove Twisha to be mentally ill and a drug addict, which was strongly opposed by Twisha’s family lawyer and expressed fear of destruction of evidence. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, Sessions Court Judge Pallavi Dwivedi rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Samarth Singh. Immediately after this decision of the court, Bhopal Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for the arrest of absconding Samarth Singh or giving information.
Speaking to PTI, Twisha’s grieving father Navnidhi Sharma said, “The rejection of the anticipatory bail plea is not our complete victory. Our victory will be when both (husband and mother-in-law) are punished.” He expressed fear that the influential family might try to get relief from the High Court on the basis of money and power.
Retired judge mother-in-law’s clarification
On the other hand, the accused husband’s mother and retired judge Giribala Singh (who has already been granted anticipatory bail from the court) held a press conference and rejected the allegations of Twisha’s family. He claimed that Twisha was suffering from depression and mental illness. She also showed some bank transaction slips and claimed that she took care of Twisha’s needs.
On behalf of Giribala Singh, receipts of some online transactions were also shown in the court in which it was claimed that money ranging from Rs 5 thousand to Rs 50 thousand was given to Twisha as per the need. He alleged that Twisha’s family had not taken care of her for the last 5 months and now they are not even allowing her to cremate her body. He said that Twisha’s family is doing politics in this matter and he is being defamed.

Meanwhile, some footage of the CCTV camera installed in the house before Twisha’s death has also surfaced. In the footage, she is seen alone at night climbing the stairs of the house towards the terrace. After some time, her husband Samarth Singh is seen bringing her down the stairs along with two other people. It was also seen in the footage that an attempt was made to save Twisha by giving her CPR on the stairs itself.
Gross negligence in police investigation
Meanwhile, serious questions have also been raised on the investigation of the local police. Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief and ACP Rajneesh Kashyap admitted that the Investigating Officer (IO) was negligent in sending the rope (with which the noose was hanged) to AIIMS Bhopal during the postmortem. ACP said that strict action will be taken against the guilty officer. Although the initial report of AIIMS is calling it a hanging suicide, the deceased’s father claims that there were injury marks on Twisha’s body, which directly point towards murder.
On Sunday itself, the victim’s family protested outside the residence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and demanded re-postmortem of the body in Delhi AIIMS and the case should be resolved. Madhya Pradesh Had demanded transfer out of. At present, the police say that apart from the husband’s claims, they are conducting a strict investigation only on the basis of the sections of dowry death and torture mentioned in the FIR.

Apart from her corporate and creative work, Twisha also described herself as a certified yoga trainer and Vipassana practitioner.
