More than 51 thousand drivers joined
Bharat Taxi is being projected as the world’s largest driver-owned network. In Delhi and Gujarat, more than 51,000 drivers have been registered on the platform in all three categories of car, auto and bike. Although this cooperative cab service has not yet been implemented across the country, Bharat Taxi has already emerged as the world’s largest driver-owned mobility collective.
App goes live, iOS version will come soon
Bharat Taxi mobile app is currently available for trial and feedback on Google Play Store. The cooperative says that the iOS version of the app will also be launched soon. Currently, its trial has been started in Delhi and Gujarat and this app is getting good response from the customers. Integration with Delhi Metro
The specialty of Bharat Taxi app is that it has been integrated with Delhi Metro. The main objective of Bharat Taxi is to provide rides to the customers at low cost as well as to provide full compensation to the cab drivers for their hard work. According to Sahakar Taxi Cooperative, drivers on this platform will get the full payment made by the customers. Along with this, they will also be given representation in the board of the organization and dividend on their shares. This model is being considered a big step towards financially empowering the drivers.
‘No commission’ model, not a driver but a charioteer
One specialty of Bharat Taxi is that no commission will be charged here. Drivers only have to pay a subscription fee, which can be daily, weekly or monthly. This way, the entire earnings of each trip will go into the driver’s pocket. The government believes that this will provide financial strength to lakhs of drivers and increase their confidence. The drivers joining this service will not be called drivers but ‘Sarathi’.
Partnership with Delhi Police
The cooperative has partnered with Delhi Police to ensure the safety of riders and drivers. This is expected to make the cab riding experience more safe and reliable.

A few months ago, Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited was registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act. Its authorized share capital has been kept at Rs 300 crore. Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah had announced the launch of cooperative cab service in the Lok Sabha in March this year. He had said that, “Soon a cooperative taxi platform like Ola and Uber is going to come. He said that the profit from this cooperative taxi platform will not go to any rich person. This profit will go to the taxi driver.”
The arbitrariness of private companies will not be tolerated
Let us tell you that in a way, Bharat Taxi service is also an answer to the arbitrariness of private cab services companies like Ola and Uber. Because these private ride hailing companies increase their fares at any time. Recently, they have also received approval from the government that these companies can charge double the fare from customers during peak hours. In such a situation, Bharat Taxi will provide an affordable ride to the customers.

Due to which many times cab drivers have to face financial crisis. But if Bharat Taxi runs on no commission model, then the due money of the drivers will reach their accounts directly.
