Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) demonstrated in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Many celebrities including actor Naseeruddin Shah and musician Vishal Dadlani participated in this protest.
Meanwhile, actor Piyush Mishra, while mentioning Naseeruddin Shah’s meeting with Abhijit Dipke, raised questions on his silence on other issues of the country.
He sought to praise Smith Mosquito, who saved the lives of 170 passengers on the Dubai flight, and to give a statement on the incident at Lovely Professional University (LPU).

Demand to express condolences on LPU incident
Piyush Mishra also raised the issue of Lovely Professional University (LPU). He said that during the police action there was a scuffle and commotion with the students.
Piyush sarcastically reminded that Naseeruddin Shah had said that he has learned more from these children than from the National School of Drama (NSD) and FTII.
Piyush asked when did these children become acting teachers, Naseer Saheb should express his condolences by sending a message on this also.
Piyush Mishra had joined the Jharkhand student movement.

In the video, Piyush Mishra mentioned the help sought during the Jharkhand student movement. He said that when he had sought help from Naseer Saheb for Jharkhand, he had sent a poem by a Pakistani poet.
Piyush said that the people there did not want the poetry of any poet, but wanted flour, dal, roti, litti and chokha. He didn’t want any pizza or burger.
Piyush Mishra told Naseeruddin Shah in clear words that now whenever he makes any public statement, he will definitely get a reply from Piyush Mishra. Describing himself as an old acquaintance of Naseer Saheb, he ended his speech with ‘Inquilab Zindabad’.

This dispute between Naseeruddin Shah and Piyush Mishra is not new. Earlier, during the NEET protest in Delhi, Naseeruddin Shah had raised questions on the silence of Bollywood celebrities.

Talking about the silence of celebs on the Cockroach Janata Party protest, Naseeruddin Shah had told The Wire, celebs will speak only when their conscience tells them to do so.
There is a saying that a dog with a bone in its mouth cannot bark. As soon as a bone falls from his mouth or a tooth breaks, he will bark.
