Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Deepika Padukone’s spirit controversy was in the headlines this year. The director dropped Deepika from the film because of her demand. Amidst the dispute with Deepika, Sandeep has praised Ranveer Singh for Dhurandhar.

On Saturday, Sandeep praised director Aditya Dhar and the acting of the star cast for the film on X.

He wrote- Dhurandhar is like a man who does not speak much and is strong. The title Dhurandhar fits perfectly as the film is full of grandeur and power. The illustration is very clear and there is no confusion at all. Music, acting, story and direction everything is top.

The director further wrote- ‘Akshay Khanna sir and Ranveer Singh got into their characters with ease. Thanks to Aditya Dhar Films, who made everyone understand the real importance of countless sacrifices.

Responding to Sandeep’s post, Aditya Dhar writes – ‘Thank you, my dear Sandeep. I’m so glad to hear this from you. I have always admired the fearlessness with which you stand for your cinema and your belief in unapologetic, masculine storytelling.

Why is there dispute between Sandeep and Deepika?

Let us tell you that Sandeep Reddy Vanga wanted to cast Deepika Padukone as the heroine opposite Prabhas in his upcoming film Spirit. Earlier, the shooting of this film was to happen in the end of the year 2024 but due to Deepika’s pregnancy, the shooting was postponed.

After becoming a mother, Deepika refused to do films due to her busy schedule. But Sandeep wanted Deepika only, so he changed the schedule according to him, after which Deepika agreed to the film.

Just a few days ago, it was reported that Deepika Padukone has been paid a fee of Rs 20 crore for ‘Spirit’.

Demands like eight-hour shifts, huge fees, share in profits and not speaking dialogues in Telugu were made towards Deepika. Deepika became a mother in September 2024, so she wanted only eight-hour shifts for 5 days a week. Sandeep was not happy with all these demands of the actress, after which he removed Deepika from the film. Now in his place is Trupti Dimri.
