Monsoon is once again very active in many parts of the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rains in 14 states and very heavy rains in 11 states on Saturday (24 August).

The Meteorological Department also said that due to the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, a strong rain system has become active in Madhya Pradesh. There will be heavy rain till August 26.

Here, Mathura in Uttar Pradesh received heavy rain for about 8 hours on Thursday. Due to this, many areas of the city were flooded with water up to 5-6 feet, vehicles parked on the roads got submerged and the road caved in.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has expressed hope of good rain in Bihar within the next 72 hours. On August 25, there may be heavy rain with strong winds in some districts. There is also a possibility of lightning during this time.

Rescue operations are underway after the landslide in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.
