The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in 22 states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (September 4). Very heavy rains are expected in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana today.
Rajasthan received heavy rainfall throughout the day on Wednesday. Low lying areas were flooded due to rising water levels of rivers. Jodhpur recorded the highest rainfall of 90.6 mm. Similar conditions will prevail in the state for the next 4-5 days.
3 children died due to the collapse of a brick kiln wall in Panchkula, Haryana. There was a traffic jam on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway. Many areas in Gurugram were submerged. There is a yellow alert for rain in Delhi.
In Madhya Pradesh too, a woman and a youth died in rain-related incidents. Heavy rains are expected in the districts of Gujarat for the next 5 days. So far 49 people have died here during the monsoon season.

The situation of Nagaland, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Landslides occurred from the Ferima and Pagla hills due to heavy rains in Chumoukedima district of Nagaland. Due to this, 6 people including a woman died. A large part of NH-29 was damaged. Many people are also missing.
Maharashtra has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last three days. 10 people and 523 animals died in Marathwada region. 1126 houses have been damaged.
Due to continuous rain in Himachal Pradesh, 119 roads including 2 NHs remained closed on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain and lightning in different districts. So far 153 people have died due to rain in the state.
The situation in Telangana is bad due to the rains that have been continuing for 5 days. Many areas including Khammam are flooded. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of very heavy rains in Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu districts on Wednesday.
In Andhra Pradesh too, many districts are flooded due to rain. Vijayawada is among the worst affected districts. Relief and rescue work is going on here. State CM Chandrababu Naidu is monitoring the flood situation. 6.5 lakh people have been affected in Vijayawada alone.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka on September 6.
