Till now CBI has not got the necessary approval to prosecute.
The CBI’s investigation into the corruption case related to the Delhi liquor policy case is ongoing. On Monday (August 12), the Rouse Avenue Court gave the CBI another 15 days to obtain the necessary approval from the authorities for the investigation.
The agency told the court that it has not yet received approval from the concerned authorities for the investigation. On this, Special Judge Kaveri Baveja gave the agency time till August 27.
The agency is investigating against Kejriwal and AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak. Earlier, the court had extended Kejriwal’s judicial custody till August 20 in the same case.
Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26
The CBI arrested Kejriwal on June 26. The ED arrested Kejriwal on March 21. Although the Supreme Court granted him bail in the money laundering case on July 12, he remains in jail due to the CBI case.

Kejriwal’s plea against CBI arrest rejected
On August 5, the Delhi High Court dismissed Arvind Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest by the CBI. It also asked him to approach the lower court for his bail plea.
The court said that it cannot be said that the CBI arrested Kejriwal without any solid reason. The court had reserved the decision in the hearing of this case on July 29.
On July 12, the Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal in the ED case
Arvind Kejriwal was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on July 12. While granting bail, Justice Sanjeev Khanna had said that Kejriwal has been in jail for 90 days. Therefore, we order his release. We know that he is an elected leader and it is up to him to decide whether he wants to remain the Chief Minister or not.
