A total of 699 candidates will contest on 70 seats in the assembly elections to be held on February 5 in Delhi. January 20 was the last date for withdrawal of names.
According to the Election Commission (EC) website, 1,522 candidates had filed nominations for the elections. 22 candidates are trying their luck against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on the New Delhi seat.

BJP fields candidates on 68 seats, one seat each for JDU-LJP BJP released its fourth list for Delhi Assembly elections on 16 January. 9 candidates were announced in this list. BJP has declared candidates for 68 seats in its total four lists, while leaving one seat each for allies JDU and LJP (Ram Nivas).
Congress declared candidates on all seats Congress has announced the names of candidates for all 70 seats. Surendra Kumar has been made the candidate from Bawana seat. Sumesh Gupta has been given ticket from Rohini seat. The party has made Rahul Dhanak its candidate from Karol Bagh. Apart from this, Virendra Bidhuri has been fielded from Tughlakabad and Arjun Bhadana from Badarpur.
AAP has announced candidates for all 70 seats. AAP has declared the names of 70 candidates in a total of 5 lists between November 21 and December 20, i.e. in 30 days. In the fifth list released on December 20, the name of the candidate from Mehrauli seat was changed. Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj will contest from Greater Kailash, Satyendra Jain will contest from Shakur Basti.
This time the tickets of 26 sitting MLAs have been canceled. The seats of 4 MLAs have been changed. Among these, Manish Sisodia’s seat has been changed from Patparganj to Jangpura, Rakhi Bidlan’s seat has been changed from Mangolpuri to Madipur, Praveen Kumar’s seat has been changed from Jangpura to Janakpuri and Durgesh Pathak’s seat has been changed from Karawal Nagar to Rajendranagar.
Former CM’s competition with the sons of two former CMs BJP has fielded Pravesh Verma from New Delhi seat and Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit against former CM Arvind Kejriwal. In this way, former CM Kejriwal will face the sons of two former CMs. Parvesh Verma is the son of former CM Sahib Singh Verma and Sandeep Dixit is the son of former CM Sheila Dikshit.
