BJP has won the Mayor election of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD). The party’s mayor candidate Parvesh Wahi got 156 out of 165 votes in the voting held on Wednesday. Mayor elections are held every year in MCD. For this, all the councilors, MPs and 14 MLAs elected by the Assembly Speaker cast their votes.
Aam Aadmi Party had boycotted the elections and did not vote. After the victory, Pravesh Wahi said – His priority is to provide better facilities to the people of Delhi. Work will be done to clean the garbage heap in the city and make Delhi clean.

Pravesh Wahi is the councilor of Rohini E ward. He has been a councilor three times and comes from the Khatri Punjabi community. His family migrated from Rawalpindi to India. He received his early education from a Municipal Corporation school in Old Delhi and has been an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Pravesh started with Vishwa Hindu Parishad in 1990 and joined BJP Yuva Morcha in 2002. He has also been elected councilor in 2007 and 2012 and during this time he has served on important positions like Chairman of Rohini Zonal Committee and Chairman of the influential Standing Committee of Northern Municipal Corporation.
