High alert has been declared in the capital Delhi regarding possible terrorist threat. After receiving intelligence input, Delhi Police and other security agencies have increased surveillance at many sensitive places in the city. On Saturday, sources said that security arrangements have been tightened in view of the possible danger.
According to sources, security has been increased at the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party, its office on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg and nearby government establishments. Additional armed police force has been deployed here, barricading has been increased and vehicles are being checked intensively.
Agencies have received input that there may be an attempt to target major offices and crowded areas of central Delhi. Possible attacks include suicide attacks, vehicle-based IEDs, firing and coordinated attacks.
Anti-sabotage checks at sensitive locations
Sources said that anti-sabotage checks have been started at important government buildings, political offices, markets, transport hubs and other crowded places. Security agencies are maintaining constant surveillance across the city.
Bomb disposal squad, sniffer dog unit and quick reaction teams have been kept on alert. Besides, Delhi Fire Service has also been instructed to remain alert so that any emergency situation can be dealt with immediately.
Police have been instructed to keep a close watch on suspicious activities, abandoned objects and parked vehicles in sensitive areas.
Instructions to all district units to remain alert
Security has also been increased in areas and settlements considered sensitive from law and order point of view. Random checking campaigns and verification campaigns are being conducted by the local police.
According to sources, all district units have been instructed to remain alert by coordinating with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces. Senior officials are continuously monitoring the situation and security arrangements are being reviewed across the city.
Recently, the Special Cell of Delhi Police, on the instructions of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, busted the module of Pakistani gangster/terrorist Shehzad Bhatti, who was plotting terrorist activities in India and arrested 9 accused.
During interrogation, it was revealed that this module was preparing to carry out major incidents of target killing in Delhi. The accused had conducted recce of many important places of the capital and a famous temple and sent its videos to their handlers. There is also input that security forces deployed at important places could also be targeted.
Delhi Red Fort blast case
Let us tell you that on November 10, 2025, there was a massive bomb explosion in a car at a traffic signal located at some distance from the historic Red Fort of Delhi, in which 12 people were killed and more than 30 were injured. This area is considered very sensitive from security point of view, due to which this incident has increased the concern of the investigating agencies. After the incident, the Special Cell of Delhi Police conducted the initial investigation and then the Central Government handed over the case to NIA.
The investigation had revealed the terrorist conspiracy of Jaish-e-Mohammed, modules of doctors and cross-border connections. Since then, the Central Investigation Agency is continuously engaged in revealing the identity of the suspects, their network and the entire conspiracy of the attack. NIA had said that this raid is part of the investigation related to the Red Fort car blast, the objective of which is to expose the network involved in the attack and ensure the arrest of the accused involved in it.
