A young man died after an air conditioner unit fell from the second floor of a building in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area. One is injured. The incident took place on Saturday (August 17) at around 7 pm. Its video has now surfaced on social media.
The video showed that a boy was sitting on a scooter below the building. One of his friends was standing next to him. Both were talking. Then both of them hugged each other. Suddenly the outdoor unit of the AC fell on the head of the young man riding the scooter.
Police said that both the friends were injured in the accident. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where the scooter rider was declared dead. His friend suffered injuries in his hands. However, he is out of danger.
The deceased youth has been identified as Jitesh Chaddha (18 years) from Doriwalan Delhi. His friend Pranshu (17 years) is a resident of Patel Nagar. Police have registered a case after the accident. A forensic team has been deployed to investigate the cause of the AC falling. The investigation of the case is ongoing.
